ANDEAN CLOUD FOREST CONSERVATION LOWLAND AMAZON RAINFOREST CONSERVATION DISCOVERY AND PROTECTION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES
DESCRIPTION
The eco-action we offer here is the care and management of an extraordinary set of ecological reserves containing some of the most diverse and most scientifically important forests in the world.
Fundación EcoMinga has ten reserves totaling more than 5000 hectares (12000 acres) of cloud forest, alpine grasslands, and lowland Amazonian rain forest ranging in elevation from 1100m to 3860m (3500-12500 ft ) in the upper Río Pastaza watershed, a major tributary of the Amazon. The reserves are located in Tungurahua and Pastaza provinces between the towns of Baños and Puyo.
Eduardo, one of the protectors of these reserves, shares what he does in this video.
Fundación EcoMinga established these reserves to directly protect the rare and endemic species in this important area, and to provide a resource for the local communities' efforts in sustainable ecotourism.
