What is this eco-action about?

This important eco-action consists of reintroducing native trees and bushes that were cut down to plant monoculture crops, preparing organic fertilizers to restore the soil they need for survival, and monitoring their health and growth. It also includes the creation of refuges for mammals or the restoration of wetlands for reptiles and amphibians.

To be able to reintroduce all the species that were lost, the members of the community first need to travel long distances to find the necessary seeds and help them germinate in a nursery. It involves monitoring and caring for the trees that were planted to make sure that all the species have access to sunlight or shade, depending on their needs. Ecological restoration of a forest is a full-time job!
